Those lazy, hazy days of summer

Like moths to a flame
 on
hot
summer days

we are drawn to the sound of water…

… the gentle trickle and splash
is a magnet …
… a promise of cool delight

… a welcome reprieve
from those lazy
hazy
days
of summer!

What a wonderful break from sitting in front of the fireplace remarking on how cold it is outside and watching the rainfall, wondering when it might become snowflakes. . .

Hi Francesca, what a scorcher today- so hot here it was even too hot to go to the beach! We hid inside our cool house and played board games, read, looked at blogs, watched cartoons with the kids and attempted a 1000 piece jigsaw, then at 5pm ran outside and hosed eachother and stood under the outdoor shower- bliss- then fish and chips for dinner as it was too hot to cook. Don't you just love it here! xxCorrina.

The best way to handle the heat Corrina – I have just watered the garden and opened up the house and it's amazingly cool – good luck over the next couple of days as we get hotter. Keep Cool! F xx

Thank you Jeanne – at least we don't have the humidity – yet! The nights can be a killer – totally airless! Bracing myself for the week ahead! F xx

How marvelous! the drops of water in the sun. Really beautiful! I love the concept of your blog, capturing moments like that.

  • Oh dear it's wind ice and snow-capped mountains over here. Beautiful, not too cold, probably should be colder. Quite the opposite! Scat

Thank you Ann – it is a favourite place for people, cats and dogs – especially on hot days – it's the sound as much as anything that is cooling! F x
