Juliet’s balcony of dreams

It’s the stuff of love stories

A box on a façade…
With a door of a particular hue
Leading to an altogether different view.

Decorated by age and adorned with a tangled trail of vines
This little escape hints at sweet nights of adoration

Sitting somewhere above the world below
And just beneath the eaves and stars

It’s a retreat from the world inside
A sanctuary among the clouds

Where you can kiss the wind
And sing with the swallows.

Like a geckos glued to a wall
Awkward and lilliputian in size

Juliet’s balconies boast a time of dreams
…of love lost
…and love found.

Oh my goodness, Francesca, I LOVED this post. Balconies are among my favorite photos (right up there with doors and windows) and you've done a beautiful job with this one. Have a lovely weekend. . . hugs, Jackie

Let's have a drink one day on one of those balconies shall we? Which one shall we chose? Loved it. Hugs

I too love to picture windows and balconies .. They're like ways into hidden worlds, or eyes opened on the world, according to which side you are. The 1st one here has such a beautiful and unusual color!
