The glory of the hydrangea

They are summer’s glory

Intense clusters of pearl-petals and colour
Always perfectly arranged by nature’s florist

With bravado…
…flair and magnificence…

The simple hydrangea is anything but!

I love hydrangeas! Your photos – as always – are works of art! Happy weekend. Hugs, Jackie

  • I used to turn my nose up at hydrangeas. I used to think of them as flowers your grandmother would love. Now I can't get enough of them. Maybe it's because I'm entering the granny zone but I love them in full bloom and when they're half dead. The colours are so subtle and beautiful. Nice post Fran x

Thank you Marg and I couldn't agree more – though I doubt you're entering the Granny zone! I still have hydrangeas from December in various bottles around the house – they dry out beautifully and the colours are gentle and peaceful! F xx

How absolutely gorgeous! I lived in Washington State for many years and hydrangeas grew big and gorgeous there. 🙂 I've really missed them since moving to Oz, so your post made me very happy indeed. 🙂
